2 more weeks!!!!

The countdown has begun. I leave for Paris two weeks from today. We’re flying out of JFK (not in the original plan) on BA (also not in the original plan) have a layover in London (yep, not in the original plan) but who cares? I’ll be in Paris by 11am CET on May 24th. That’s plenty of time to rest from the flight, get a plan together and be in prime shape for my 40th birthday on May 26th.

I’ve made a reservation for lunch at La Tour D’Argent …. I’m insane, I know this… yeah, it’s going to cost a fortune for this meal, I don’t care, I just don’t care, it’s about the experience, the food, the views, and it’s about celebrating my forty-ness.

I haven’t decided on where to go for dinner, I’ve got a couple of much less expensive recommendations from friends, but those may wait for another day. A show at one of the cabarets may be what I decide on. You’ve got to do that at least once in Paris. After, that it may be a last minute trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower to see the city of light at night.

So many things I want to do during my tens days there: Versailles, the Louvre, Chinatown, Pere la Chaise… I want to take a picture laying on Oscar Wilde’s grave, Possibly going to Reims or Dijon for a day trip, and of course, the baguettes, the pastries, the croissants and the cafe creme…

    Don’t forget a scoop of the divine chocolate icecream at Berthillon as you’re walking down the Champs Elysees (it’s on the left hand side as you’re heading away from the Arc de Triomphe).
